SSS Banana Pudding ingnites happiness
If you read about the gravel cupcake debacle last week, then you probably wondered what was in my other hand as the cupcake fell to the ground. It was a cup of delicious banana pudding from Sugar Sweet Sunshine. Everyone told me to get it the last time I got cupcakes from SSS. I do not know why it took me this long to go back and try it, but I was thankful to have tried it! Maybe I will try to eat it for breakfast the way Kathy says she sometimes does.
Banana pudding might possibly be the best kind of dessert you can find, and the version at Sugar Sweet Sunshine is quite delicious. It is also cost effective. NYC Food Guy wrote about its deliciousness and how it is enough for two individuals. While I respect Lawrence and his views, I must advise that if you normally eat cookies for breakfast (looks around innocently...) eating the pudding all by yourself is great. Sure, it might take you an hour as you walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to shed all those calories, sure you might rot out all your teeth, but gosh darn it, pudding is delicious.
Each spoonful of banana pudding from Sugar Sweet Sunshine is rich and luxurious. It is like treating yourself to a chorus inside your mouth. And the chorus is not singing like JLo, but instead singing hallelujah (but not the Jeff Buckley version because while beautiful, that song just makes me wanna off myself. Jeebus Jeff, relax a little. Smile.) The pudding is not overly sweet, and there are enough Nilla wafers studded throughout to keep the wafer-to-pudding ratio at the right balance.
The price is great too, since they stuff the 8oz cup with pudding, and it does take a while to get through all of it because there is so much pudding! You definitely can eat it without taste bud fatigue, or at least I did it... and know that it is feasible. You should try it too!
Apparently they have all kinds of flavors and you can ask them to do half and half! There is always next time... Oh and I watched Iron Man this past weekend. And then Ming, Patrick, and I had a thirty minute discussion on the subway about which super power we want to have. So if you could choose between flying and invisibility, which would you choose and why? Yea, we talk about hard-hitting issues 4 realz.

YAY for SSS banana pudding!!! I absolutely loveeeeeeeeee their banana pudding!!!! I read on Kathy's blog today about Buttercup Bakery having the banana pudding also, so I headed there during lunch break. I can definately say I like the SSS version more (sorry Kathy!) cause it's denser and actually less sweet. Mmmm I'm salivating -=D::

Wow, that is a seriously big portion of banana pudding. Y'know, I've never even had banana pudding before - I'm obviously missing out on something big! Do people make it at home or is this a pudding that most people have out? Do you reckon I can make it at home?

that looks ilke a cup full of goodness. What other flavors do they have? Not like it matters, I guess, since I live on teh West Coast. Still, a girl can dream.

And I'm sold. Special mission this weekend to LES. I've put serious thought into my super powers. I would take invisibility because whenst flying, you have to watch out for birds and tall buildings and such.

Half and half pudding cup! I never thought of that before...I'll remember that next time I go. Hehe. Bwhaa. BWAHAHAHA.
Mm yes, love the pudding. I prefer sharing it with someone else though. Then I feel less guilty. ;_;

hehehehe... I'm giddy with excitement. the only thing not making me go into a deep depression about leaving europe is the great prospect of being able to spend a lot of time in nyc again. I mean months upon months upon months !
this looks really yummy, I'm glad that it IS yummy. I look forward to trying it. oh and your comment about JB was funny, and I really did laugh out loud. (I love JB!) and I haven't seen Iron Man yet and I'm itching to!!
yay... pudding.

Mhmm pudding. Did you really eat that serve all by yourself? I'm impressed!

I had it a while back and didn't like it due to the fact that the bananas were not ripe. It tasted like they were still green when they made it. I had high hopes too.

Mmmmmmm agreeed on the portion size, one cup is never big enough to share, hehehe! Next time you must also have the strawberry-lemon trifle (I think they only have it during summer months) - they'll let you do 1/2 banana and 1/2 strawberry if you want. OH man, and when fall comes around? PUMPKIN PUDDING!!! Geezeshus, now that one is crazy awesome ^_^

Wonders,
Oh yea? I still need to try Buttercup's version for myself still!
Su-Lin,
You can definitely make it at home! Oh wait, that gives me an idea... haha. I think of it as a simple, homey dessert, so yes. Home = good.
Amanda,
Goodness indeed. They also have chocolate and strawberry.
Blondie,
What if you can fly over buildings?!
Robyn,
Yes! Half and half pudding cup FTW!!
Kathya,
Pudding! Yes, you should definitely give this a try and let the flickr world know how you like it once you move back!
Agnes,
Yuppers, all by myself. It was worth all the calories :)
betazen,
Hmmm.. perhaps a second try is the charm?
Kathy,
Pumpkin pudding?! Oh man, I need to eat more pudding!
