Food in Mouth

Airport dim sum at HKG

After two months of being a parent, I can say that it doesn't get any easier! The food blogging pretty much has stopped but it's nice to take...

Rant about authentic Chinese food

A man once said to me, "Because I'm [insert nationality], the food that I cook is [insert same nationality]." It made sense to me. I think the particular nationality in the phrase could easily be applied to any of the popular ethnic food in the U.S. Authenticity is a subject that can be tackled endlessly. It's no secret how I feel about supposed Chinese food that doesn't live in a predominantly Chinese neighborhood. This got me thinking even more...

This is a poo

Today's post will be epic. I will talk about things that other food bloggers just aren't talking about because it's too gross. Also, I'll talk about how much of an asshole I am. And show you through a hypothetical example why that is. First thing is first, so let's get started...

Bar Boulud Review: Bar Boulud and waffles

True story. I wanted to talk about the Michelle Obama quote about how she's proud of her country for the first time, so obviously I went to google. And most of the time I like to look at the headlines to make sure it actually is a result that captures what I want. It looked sorta like it so I clicked on it. Then, I realized something catastrophic had occurred. I was on the FoxNews website. You know, all this talk about data mining at Google and all there impressively smart computer science majors (and yes I was a CS major, and yes I'm impressed by their bigger brains), they still don't know me. Seriously Mr. Brin? After years and years of storing my data? Me, the guy who openly states that he hates Republicans on his website gets a result from Unfair and Unbalanced?...

Eating street food in Taipei

The truth is, writing this blog has become a chore! Yet I find myself back here time after time, still writing about food that occurred around four months ago. Homework has made me weary and now I just dream about the summer vacation that Steph and I had and about how much vacation rocks. As promised in the post about awesome mochi, here's a mostly photo post about street night market eats in Taipei. As kids were saying a few years ago, this shiznit was the bomb dot com. Affordable street food is a way of life the way fast food is here in the United States. It's better in places like Taipei or Hong Kong or Singapore because there's more variety and quite often the food is pretty good regardless of which place you pick. We went to Shilin Nightmarket because that's where my moms...
